What Is A Microneedling Facial?

Microneedling is a non-laser skin resurfacing treatment that improves the tone and texture of the skin and reduces surface skin imperfections. Microneedling FACIAL is the no downtime form of this procedure and is ideal for those looking to replace their monthly facial with a more result-oriented but still no downtime service.

Microneedling is minimally-invasive, which makes it an ideal skin resurfacing treatment that can improve the tone and texture of your skin and reduce imperfections in the skin. At its core, microneedling is a form of collagen induction therapy (CIT). By creating microscopic wounds in the skin, microneedling triggers the natural healing response in the body, leading to the production of new elastin and collagen. This process can help to improve the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, scarring, hyperpigmentation, as well as overall skin tone and texture.

How does a microneedling facial work?

Microneedling is a fractional treatment, meaning that a fraction of the skin is treated at a time.

The treatment is performed using an automated stamping pen with a tip composed of 12 microneedles to stamp tiny punctures into the skin. The body responds to micro-injuries from aesthetic procedures much like it does to traumatic injuries and initiates the wound healing cascade.

This means improved circulation and oxygenation to the skin, as well as increased production of new collagen and elastin, which builds and nourishes skin tissue. As with other fractional treatments, the surrounding untreated areas of skin heal the micro-treatment zones rapidly and initiate the production of collagen, elastin, and new skin cells. The most commonly treated areas include the face, neck, and chest, but microneedling may also be performed on other areas of the body such as the back or buttocks.

Microneedling Facial Benefits

Microneedling is one of the best ways to give your face some self-care, and the results can be truly transformational. So whether you're looking to address specific concerns like acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, or just want to give your skin a boost of radiance, microneedling can help.

Microneedling benefits include:

  • Improves some visible signs of aging skin
  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Improves skin tone and texture
  • Diminishes wrinkles and fine lines

Ideal Candidates for Microneedling Facial

Microneedling can be used to treat a variety of skin concerns and is suitable for most skin types. However, a few conditions may make you ineligible for treatment. These include:

  • Active acne or breakouts
  • Open cuts or wounds
  • Rosacea
  • Eczema or dermatitis
  • Sensitive skin

If you have any concerns about whether microneedling is right for you, we recommend booking a consultation with a qualified aesthetician or skincare professional.

Customized Microneedling Facial

Each microneedling treatment is customized in a variety of ways at Bonakdar Aesthetics based on your skin health and the treatment goals.

Microneedling stamping action produces micro-channels in the skin that allow absorption of topically applied active products to the deep layers of the skin. Topicals selected include anti-aging booster for color, texture and hydration improvements, PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma for increased healing and collagen stimulation, and chemical peels for enhanced peeling and rejuvenation.

Microneedling With PRP

Microneedling can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to further enhance the results. PRP is a concentration of growth factors and other healing proteins that are derived from your own blood. When injected into the skin, PRP can help to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin.

PRP is often called the "vampire facial" because it uses your own blood, but the procedure is actually quite simple. First, a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm. This blood is then placed in a centrifuge, which spins the blood to separate the PRP from the other blood cells. The PRP is then injected into the skin using a microneedling device.

Recovery for Microneedling Facial

Microneedling isn't an invasive skin treatment, so the recovery process is typically very short. Most people experience some redness and swelling immediately after treatment, but this usually subsides within a few hours. You may also experience some mild bruising, but this should resolve itself within a few days.

It’s important to avoid wearing makeup or using skincare products for at least 24 hours after treatment, as this can increase the risk of infection. After that, you can resume your normal skincare routine, but be sure to use gentle, non-abrasive products.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is no set downtime for microneedling, but most people prefer to take it easy for a day or two after treatment. This means avoiding strenuous exercise, hot showers, and exposing your skin to direct sunlight.

You should also avoid using any products that contain retinol or other exfoliating ingredients, as this can irritate the skin. If you have any questions about what skincare products to use after treatment, be sure to ask your aesthetician or skincare professional.

Results for Microneedling Facial

Results from microneedling can take a few weeks to become visible and will continue to improve over the course of several months. Most people need a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart to see optimal results.

Microneedling FACIAL FAQ

No. Even though a microneedling FACIAL would be tolerable without numbing cream, we start every microneedling session with an application of topical anesthetic to the skin for 30 minutes. At Bonakdar Aesthetics, we aim to deliver a comfortable procedure and a remarkable experience.

A typical FACIAL treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

Microneedling treatments are recommended every four weeks.

Microneedling results aren't permanent. However, you can keep up on the results by having maintenance treatments every few months.

The cost of microneedling will vary depending on the provider, the number of treatments, and other factors. However, you can expect to pay anywhere from $200 to $700 per session, depending on where you go and what you need done.

While outcomes vary depending on the treatment level and customization, FACIAL results are visible 24-48 hours after the procedure and continue for the next month to three months.

Both treatments are very comfortable for the patient and produce significant improvement in the health and appearance of the skin. Both treatments work in the same manner, except that Vivace combines a radiofrequency component with microneedling which surprisingly lessens the treatment downtime but improves the treatment results.

This slight difference results in less downtime and better treatment results with Vivace. If you choose to combine Vivace with PRP treatments, the skin will be pink to red immediately post-treatment. There is no downtime.

At best, home dermarollers are ineffective, and at worst, they are unsafe. In a professional microneedling device, the needles are used once and then discarded. But home dermarollers are used repeatedly, increasing the risk of skin infection and irritation. Because of the way they are constructed, these devices cannot be cleaned properly and may begin to harbor viruses, fungi, and bacteria which are then introduced into the skin with the next use.

Dermaroller needles also get dull and therefore instead of resulting in superficial micro-treatment zones, they may cause deep injury and even scarring.

Dr. Bonakdar recommends you throw away home dermarollers and come into Bonakdar Aesthetics for a top-quality, professional microneedling treatment that will leave your skin looking fresh and renewed.

There is no simple answer to this question. Both microneedling and Botox can be effective treatments for wrinkles, fine lines, and other skin concerns. However, the best way to determine which treatment is right for you is to book a consultation with a qualified aesthetician or skincare professional.

You may experience some mild peeling or flaking of the skin after microneedling, but this is usually only temporary. If you have any concerns, be sure to ask your aesthetician or skincare professional.
