These treatments are excellent for rejuvenation of various types of tissue and are completely safe because they rely on Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) drawn from the patient’s own blood, so adverse reactions from these treatments are extremely rare.

What Is Platelet-Rich Plasma?

Blood is made up of 40-45% red blood cells, 55% plasma, and 1% white blood cell and platelets. The plasma which contains countless growth factors, along with the platelets are the healing powerhouses of the body. By separating the platelet-rich plasma or PRP portion of blood, we create a powerful serum that has the potential to naturally rejuvenate and heal many body tissues.

Some Facts about PRP Injections

The first field of medicine to harness the benefits of PRP was orthopedic surgery to calm joint inflammation, reduce post-operative pain, and heal surgical wounds faster in 2006.

PRP is now used for rejuvenation of many tissues including skin, hair, and vaginal tissue. We have multiple tissue rejuvenation protocols using PRP as a standalone therapy or in combination with other treatments. These are all off label uses.

PRP Injection Therapy with Fillers

This is a combination treatment of filler injection followed by PRP injection. The addition of PRP produces comparable results to an additional syringe of filler. Areas treated include:

Under eyes for hollows and crepiness (1 ½ cc each side)
Cheeks (1 ½ cc each side)
Nasolabial (1 cc each side)
Melolabial (1 cc each side)
Mouth area for lip lines (1 cc each side)
Jaw angle and contour (1 cc each side)
Hand 1cc JUP plus PRP on each side

All areas may be done in 1 treatment or divided into multiple treatments. Repeat treatments are done in 12-24 months. Results are seen right away from the filler and in 3 to 12 months with increased vascularization and support of the local tissue from PRP.

Is There Downtime After PRP Injections?

No. In fact, topical PRP shortens the downtime of resurfacing procedures with which it is combined. Injectable PRP may result in some bruising, swelling, and soreness at the injection site for a few hours after the procedure.

Is PRP Therapy Painful?

There is no pain with topical PRP. Some Newport Beach PRP Injections patients report a transient burning sensation with injectable PRP if a topical anesthetic is not used, but Dr. Bonakdar uses an anesthetic to make this a comfortable treatment.

Laser Skin Resurfacing with PRP

Skin resurfacing with a laser or device can be combined with PRP to decrease downtime and improve results. You may choose from among several treatment combinations, including:

The O-Shot is a PRP injection delivered directly to the upper vagina and clitoral region to enhance sexual response and increase the ability to enjoy more frequent and intense orgasms in women. PRP Hair Restoration Therapy

Our protocol includes monthly PRP Therapy for four treatments followed by a series of quarterly treatments. While outcomes vary, results are usually visible in three months and continue to improve with time.

First hair loss will stop, then the growing hair follicles will begin to thicken. Lastly, the dormant hair follicles will transition into the growth phase and begin to grow. By the end of the protocol, you will see thicker and fuller hair.
